Kim Porter

Having been a carer for humans for over 10 years of my life, I worked in all different aspects of care working with young adults with learning disabilities, domiciliary care, dementia patients and palliative care. From when I was young I knew at some point in my life I wanted to work with animals and it just so happened to be that the timing was right now when I joined the Client Care Team at Shinfield Vets!

I am very much a people person and have a massive love for all animals. I grew up with all kinds of different pets, I’ve had dogs, cats, ducks, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs and mice over the years. 

I love to know that I am making a difference in somebody else’s pets life and making sure clients receive the best experience and care for their pet as I take great pleasure and comfort in that.

Outside of work I spend most of my time with my husband, we enjoy camping trips, going on spontaneous adventures and binge watching a TV series or 2! I have a twin brother and older brother and love spending time with my family. I also have a little kitty cat called Rupert.

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, and I will be forever grateful to Shinfield Vets for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to gaining more knowledge and experience here and hope I can progress into veterinary nursing when the time is right!
